On this page you will find instructions for the various L²P areas and typical usage scenarios. They are designed to help you organize and use your L²P learning rooms as effectively as possible. The texts are constantly updated and supplemented. If you have any questions or comments, please contact the L²P support:​​​

​​Managing Course Rooms in L2P WS2018/19

Introduction L²P​

What is L2 and what can it do? How do I create a learning room? How do I get access, like my students? The ​introduction gives you an overview of the functionalities of the learning platform and helps you with the first steps in L²P.

Courseroom organization

​​Manage appointments​L²P has a calendar in each courseroom in which event schedules can be managed. In addition, there is an exportable personal calendar for all users, which summarizes all appointments from the individual learning rooms.
Course Info
​Organize dashboards​Dashboards are customizable layout pages. The tutorial will give you an idea of how to design the dashboards to show the most important information about your course at a glance.​
​Spreading information​With announcements and e-mails you can provide your students with important information on new materials, deadlines or changes.
​Create notifications​If students have written new contributions in the discussion forum or added other elements in the common area, you can be notified by e-mail.
Select courseroom settings​​By selecting the right settings, learning spaces can be adapted to the individual way of use. The guide briefly presents the setting options.
​Manage participantsParticipant administration is one of the main tasks of course administration. In this tutorial you will learn how to give students, lecturers, and especially those who are not members of the RWTH, access to the learning room.​
Aggregate courserooms​​Courserooms can be grouped so that only one courseroom has to be managed centrally. This can be done, among other things, to administer several tutorium groups at the same time. The guide lists the most important features.
​Create surveys​​With the L²P surveys, you can query previous knowledge, coordinate topics and appointments, or evaluate the quality of your teaching.


​​Manage learning materials​​This guide will show you how to organize your learning materials in matrix views to display the context of event dates, topics, exercises and other materials at a glance.​
Create an electronic term apparatus​​In the electronic term apparatus you can make literatureas a digital copy available, which must be read in the course of the semester. You commission the university library to digitize the titles for the lessons and to provide them confirming with thecopyright law. The guide explains the steps and provides an overview of the central copyrights for the use of research literature in courserooms.
Upload image, audio and video files​​L²P has a media library where you can store pictures, audio files and videos. The videos can also be embedded directly from YouTube and played through a player integrated into the page.​


​​Assignments​​​​In assignments, you can provide digital practice sheets, collect (group) student solutions, correct or evaluate them yourself or with the help of tutors, and optionally provide sample solutions. The instructions explain the individual steps. 
​Gradebook​In the Gradebook, you can manage the services that students must provide in order to be admitted to the exam.

​With the module "Exam Results", lecturers can announce exam results in accordance with the data protection regulations. You can either manage the results online or display them in L2P after a CSV import.


Writing texts together on the Wiki​​​​Wikis enable students and all other courseroom participants to jointly create texts, e.g. a glossary or a project documentation. They are also suitable for providing FAQs or ​​organizational information about the event. 
Shared documents​Shared documents can be used to exchange learning materials by students and lecturers. Each participant can upload and modify files.​
​Collaboration in the group area


​The group area offers students the opportunity to form groups independently, to work out team solutions for exercises, or to prepare for examinations together. Teachers can also create groups and use them to support group work.

With the PDF Annotator it is possible to provide students with PDF documents which can be commented on by the students. In this way, any ambiguities can be identified in advance and resolved jointly.

Courseroom organization

Participants​In the participant administration, you will find the contact details for your lecturers and tutors.​
Surveys​Surveys offer your lecturers the opportunity to ask for previous knowledge and to coordinate topics. So you can actively shape the teaching.


Whats new?​Whats new provides an overview of all new content in the L²P, which you can also download there easily.​



​Discuss and clarify questions in the forum​​A forum is a message or discussion area for asynchronous communication in which you can discuss theses, reflect events or collect ideas.
